Laboratories

S-lab Laboratories

S-lab’s main location in Thimann labs hosts a number of different laboratory facilities and equipment, where students can perform research and test out their ideas with staff on hand ready to assist. Our equipment is varied to support whatever your prototyping and research needs may be and includes LabView for data acquisition and statistical analysis programs.

To access any of these labs, all students must first complete EH&S Lab Safety Fundamentals Class; while individual labs  and projects require specialized training:

  • Electronics Lab: Electrical Safety in Research
  • Wet Lab: Hazardous Waste Management
  • Lab-specific SOPs

You can find more information and links to register for these online courses through the UCSC Learning Center.

The laboratories are open 5 days a week from 11am to 8pm and on weekends by special permission
